About Catherine

In my late 30’s I was in a corporate career and going through a difficult period of my life. Therapy helped me so much it inspired me to retrain as a counsellor and then psychotherapist; I gained a Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling and then, with further training, an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute, in London. This training is extremely rigorous: it includes a wide range of contemporary relational psychoanalytic and humanistic theory, many hours of practice and of personal therapy, as well as a placement on a large psychiatric ward (Prospect Hospital in Reading). I have recently also undertaken a Certificate in Couples Counselling at Basingstoke Counselling Service

In addition to my private practice, I volunteer for Frontline19, a voluntary agency supporting key workers affected by Covid 19, and until recently I volunteered for Riverside Counselling Service in South Oxfordshire.

I take an integrated, holistic approach to the health of our bodies and minds, and teach tai chi/ qi gong for Bucks Mind; it can have a positive, calming impact on our nervous systems, and can help people come to accept and like themselves more.
