About Catherine

I had counselling myself when I was in my 30’s, and it really helped me.  This inspired me to retrain as a counsellor, and I gained a Diploma in Integrative Psychodynamic Counselling from the internationally reputed training centre for psychotherapists, Metanoia Institute, in London. Integrative counsellors draw on the theories from across the many schools of psychotherapy, and are often drawn to this approach, because integration feels natural; we have a lot of personal experience of moving between cultures, and understand that there is more than one way to view life, and live.

I also attend professional development workshops and conferences. Recent topics include our relationship with food; eating disorders; trauma and the body; LGBT sexuality; adolescents and risk; sibling relationships; infant development; autism and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

In addition to my private practice, I work for Riverside Counselling and The Space (for adolescents) in Henley on Thames. I am also a member of the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain, and teach tai chi for mental health in Henley for Sport in Mind.
